GIVING TO TRINITY CHURCH BRISTOL
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
—2 Corinthians 9:7
Partnership can take all kinds of different forms – as Christians we all want to consider how we can best use all that God has given us, for the advance of the gospel. This includes our time, energy, gifts, resources, and our money.
Christian financial giving is different to charitable giving. The word Paul uses in Philippians 4:15 is partnership: “And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving, except you only.”
At Trinity Church Bristol, we hope to reach the city with the gospel of Christ. We do have expenses, however:
we would love to reach the stage where we are no longer dependant on start up money and one off donations from outside the church family for our regular costs. In addition to this, there are a number of longer term areas of growth that we would like to work towards.
we would love to be able to pay our staff (Carl – our pastor is not paid by Trinity) and Tom (our full-time worker). Longer term, it would be wonderful to employ more staff as the church grows, to enable existing ministry to be carried out more efficiently (perhaps with some admin support, a women’s worker) or to reach different groups of people more effectively (for example, by employing an international students worker, or a youth and families worker).
Trinity Church is part of an organisation called AMiE (Anglican Mission in England), which provides oversight and support for Anglican churches who for whatever reason exist outside of the Church of England. As part of our partnership with them, we would like to give between 2-5% of our income to help them support struggling churches and to establish new ones.
local churches are vital in God’s plan to advance the gospel, and Bristol needs many, many more! Long term, we would love to be able to plant a new congregation elsewhere in Bristol to enable more people to hear about the Lord Jesus.

The church’s pastoral team does not see details of giving on an individual basis. Details of giving are limited to the 1 or 2 people involved with church finances. Statistical information is provided to the leadership team.
It is a scheme which allows charities to claim from the tax office (HMRC), the basic rate of income tax their donors have already paid.
Gift Aid increases the value of donations by 25% without costing the donor anything. If you pay tax in the UK and are giving financially to the work of Trinity, we encourage you to complete a gift aid form.
The form can be downloaded from the following link and returned to the Church Treasurer (ask staff team for details who this is).
